GEO Work Programme Open House Webinar #1
The GEO Open House Webinar Series is a cross-learning opportunity to explore how activities in the Post-2025 GEO Work Programme are advancing Earth Intelligence for All. Each session in the series highlights five examples of how Earth observations are being leveraged in the new transformative GEO Work Programme.
This first webinar featured five activities from the Weather, Hazard and Disaster Resilience focus area.
Featured GEO Work Programme activities:
- Geohazard Supersites and Natural Laboratories (GSNL) – Flagship
- Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS) – Flagship
- Night-Time Light Remote Sensing for SDGs (NIGHT-LIGHT) – Initiative
- A Decision-Making System for Slope Risk Deduction (SLOPE-RISK-GPT) – Pilot
- Space and Security – Convener
Each activity shared its focus, key products and services, user communities and recent innovations, followed by a moderated discussion.
All the materials, including the presentations, are now available on the GEO Knowledge Hub work. In addition, we have published a blog series based on the presentations made during the webinar, including a summary and entries covering SlopeRiskGPT, Space and Security, GSNL, NIGHT-LIGHT and GWIS.
