Governance
The intergovernmental Group on Earth Observations, established by the Resolution of the Third Earth Observation Summit in February of 2005, consisting of a Plenary, an Executive Committee, a Programme Board, and a Secretariat.
GEO's Governance comprises a Plenary, Executive Committee, Programme Board and the GEO Secretariat. The GEO Plenary is the highest decision-making body of GEO, represented by senior-level officials of government agencies, championing national interests investments and activities with national priorities and high-level representatives from Participating Organisations. The GEO Executive Committee oversees GEOs activities and guides the operations of the GEO Secretariat. The GEO Programme Board oversees the establishment of the multi-year GEO Work Programmes and works to align proposed activities with GEOs priorities and committed resources.
The GEO Secretariat, led by the Director, facilitates and supports GEO activities and it is accountable to Plenary and to Executive Committee.

Promotes Earth observations for sustainable development in Asia and Oceania.
Addresses Europe-specific challenges through Earth observation solutions.
