The session will describe GEO plans to develop an integrated heat and health service built upon state-of-the-art Earth observations for urban resilience against climate change. GEO Secretariat will make the case for the need for an accessible global service that delivers timely and spatially relevant Earth observation-powered data, information and insight on health-related risks from urban heat exposure. The objective of this session will be to strengthen the collective understanding of the needs, opportunities, and challenges of developing such a technical service to inform policies, plans, and investments related to building urban resilience to heat (and other climate-related hazards).
