About

The Resilient Cities and Human Settlements Working Group is currently being established. We are searching for members of this working group to help foster the integration and application of Earth observations in supporting urban resilience and sustainable urbanization in various human settlements, cities, and countries globally.

This working group will play an important role in transforming the visions of the Post-2025 GEO Strategy into concrete outcomes that will be incorporated into the GEO Work Programme.

The Resilient Cities and Human Settlements Working Group will be set up by summer 2024.

What we do

  • Improving the coordination of sustainable urbanization activities within the GEO Work Programme
  • Promoting work aligned with relevant global multilateral agreements such as the New Urban Agenda
  • Collaborating with other working groups and activities within GEO on climate action, sustainable development, and disaster risk reduction
