Event description
The inaugural GEO Global Forum in 2025 will be a premier global event to inspire all elements of our society – from Ministers and global leaders to citizens – to harness Earth Intelligence to empower informed and ambitious actions to ensure food security, restore ecosystems, prevent disasters, and confront the triple planetary crisis, transforming the Sustainable Development Goals into an achievable reality.
At the heart of the week, GEO-20 Plenary will include a Ministerial Segment and serve as the event’s centerpiece, where the GEO community will mark three key milestones in our journey:
- The launch, through of the first GEO Global Forum, of a dynamic platform for advancing Earth Intelligence for all.
- The celebration of the GEO's 20th anniversary, marking two decades of multilateral collaboration, innovation, and impact.
- The adoption of the Post-2025 Strategy Implementation Plan aimed to that must deliver achieve the ambitious goals of GEO’s Post-2025 Strategy

Community Events at the 2025 GEO Global Forum
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!
Community Events, formerly known as Side Events, are a signature feature of GEO Week, drawing diverse participants from the GEO Plenary, GEO Work Programme activities, private sector, and other stakeholders. These events will take place over the first two days of the 2025 GEO Global Forum, offering an engaging platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and actionable outcomes.
There will be 3 tracks of community events running in parallel, each session lasting 90 minutes, with a total of 19 sessions available for community application.
Submissions for Community Events should emphasize relevance, diversity, and collaboration. Proposals must focus on actionable Earth intelligence and impact, ensure gender, geography, and generation diversity among speakers, and encourage joint applications from GEO Members, Participating Organizations, Associates, and GEO Work Programme contributors.
Applications, integrated into the online registration process, are open until 31 January 2025. Due to limited slots, merging similar proposals may be recommended.
Expression of Interest for Exhibits

Exhibits at GEO Global Forum, formerly known as GEO Week, showcase innovative technologies, tools, and methodologies for monitoring and analyzing Earth's systems. These exhibits often feature interactive displays demonstrating the use of Earth observation data, and Earth intelligence solutions in addressing global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and disaster management. Exhibits are generally hosted by governments, research institutions, and industry partners and run throughout the week.
