Parallel Session: Digital Earth

Objectives

Digital Earth, built upon decades of satellite imagery combined with spatial analytics and advanced computing capabilities, reveals changes in environments over time. Digital Earth serves as a free and open digital public infrastructure that enables users to cutting-edge Earth observation tools and services and understand environmental changes at scale. It has been applied in addressing global challenges such as climate change, food and water insecurity, environmental degradation, etc. The session invites Digital Earth programmes at national, regional, and global levels to share best practices and identify gaps in using Digital Earth to support informed decision-making. It will also discuss how these programs collectively contribute to the vision of Earth Intelligence for All.
