Joseph Tuyishimire has academic background in Biology and Geo-information-Earth Observation applied to Natural Resources Management. His current PhD research focuses on the effect of environmental dynamics on tropical diseases to understand the spatio-temporal trends of human, flora, and fauna pathologies. He has been working as Researcher at the Center for Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing-University of Rwanda (CGIS-UR) since 2012. His research interests include the application of Geo-information and Earth Observation in Biodiversity Conservation forestry, natural resources management, environment, and the linkage between rural-urban landscape fabrics and human health. Since August 2021, he joined DE Africa as Earth Observation /Geospatial Information System (EO/GIS) specialist – User engagement Manager where he contributes to capacity development through the support of stakeholders and user activities especially in Francophone Countries.
