The Data to Action Pavilion is a collaborative initiative convened by GEO, GEO BON, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), the Smithsonian Institution and the University of Zurich. The pavilion is supported by partners and contributors, including the European Space Agency (ESA), Esri, the Allen Institute for AI (Ai2) and the Quebec Centre for Biodiversity Science, with generous financial support from the NOMIS Foundation.

The pavilion brings together data-driven organisations at CBD COP17 and demonstrates how integrated scientific information and knowledge systems can accelerate implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF).

Located in the Blue Zone (location/map to be shared shortly), the pavilion will centre on the theme "Data to Action" to explore five distinct thematic areas:

During COP17, GEO will champion the role of Earth observations and data in accelerating action on the KMGBF.

This includes the Global Ecosystems Atlas, the world's first comprehensive, open-access resource for mapping and monitoring ecosystems globally. GEO BON, GEO's biodiversity observation network, will also showcase it's work building the Global Biodiversity Observing System and tools countries need to monitor, report on and act on their biodiversity commitments.

GEO will host several events at the pavilion. Topics include the Global Ecosystems Atlas Accelerator in the Maldives; the technology, standards and partnerships behind the Global Ecosystems Atlas; GEO BON’s BON in a Box; and GEF investment to biodiversity monitoring capacity.
