Klaus Scipal
Biography
Klaus Scipal brings more than twenty-five years of experience in Earth science, satellite remote sensing, and technological innovation. He holds a Masters degree in Geodesy and a Doctorate in Technical Sciences from the Vienna University of Technology.
His career spans both academic and international research roles, including serving as an Assistant Professor at the Vienna University of Technology and as a Scientist at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts in the United Kingdom and at the European Space Agencys Space Research and Technology Centre in the Netherlands.
Since 2020, Klaus has served as Mission Manager for ESAs SMOS and BIOMASS satellite missions at the Agencys Centre for Earth Observation in Italy.
