Criteria and obligations

Criteria for Conveners:

  • Relevance:
    contributing to at least one Focus Area by facilitating information exchange, conducting gap analyses, identifying priorities within the Focus Area(s), and fostering synergies across the GWP.
  • Articulation of concept and targets:
    clearly illustrate the scope, need, key deliverables and timeliness of the activity
  • Leadership:
    conveners will be self-organized, with leaders committed to investing the time and effort to convene and execute workplans.
  • Stakeholder engagement:
    a plan should be in place to actively engage key stakeholders and maintain their involvement.

Category Monitoring Evaluation Timeline
Convener Annually on progress Evaluation on the effectiveness of Conveners by the end of the fifth year. Evaluation results: continuation or dis-continuation. 5 years
Pilot Annually on progress and impact Evaluation by the end of the second year. Evaluation results: progress to an Initiative or discontinue. One additional year can be given to improve. Pilots can apply for earlier evaluation before the cycle. 2+1 years
Initiative Annually on progress and impact Subject to evaluation by the end of the third year. Evaluation results: progress to a Flagship or resettle. One additional year may be given to improve. Initiatives can apply for earlier evaluation before the cycle. 3+1 years
Flagship Annually on progress and impact Evaluation by the end of the third year. Two additional years may be given to improve. Evaluation results: progress to a mature Flagship or continue as a Flagship. 3+2 years
Mature Flagship Annually on impact Assessment by the end of the fifth year, focusing on impact. 5 years
