GEO Initiatives and European Projects: Synergies for Urban Resilience

This 90-minutes side-event on Earth Observation and urban resilience is organized by Project Harmonia.

This event aims to discuss the potential synergies for urban resilience across various projects and initiatives. The concept of urban resilience will be addresses at different levels, from its definitions, to the challenges faced by the cities to the possibilities for implementations. More specifically, our event will address the following themes and topics:

  • what does urban resilience mean in today&srquo;s context?
  • challenges faced by cities
  • what are the needs in terms of urban resilience? What are the available that can be used or are under development?
  • Regional perspectives and implications
  • what is the future of urban resilience?

Our speakers include Julia Georgi, project coordinator of Harmonia; Anni Kröger from the Finnish Meteorological Institute; Laurine Duivon from Urbasofia; Eleni Athanasopolou from NOA & Eiffel project; as well as Mikko Strahlendorff, GEO Principal for Finland as moderator.
