
Arunima Sen
Biography
Arunima is a student in the Erasmus Mundus Copernicus Master’s in Digital Earth program, fully sponsored by the European Commission, where she studies Earth Observation and Geoinformatics with a specialization in Geo Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Her interests are in Earth system science, AI for Earth observation, climate dynamics, and community resilience.
For her work across climate science and action, she has been recognized as an Audi Environmental Foundation Scholar, a recipient of India’s highest civilian honour for young citizens in Innovation, a delegate to the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79), and a Global Teen Leader with the We Are Family Foundation. Her speaking engagements include the Sustainable Energy for All panel on “Mainstreaming Gender & Youth for SDG7” during UNGA79, Imperial College London - Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment’s Women in STEM Seminar on “Public Engagement with Climate Science”, the MAKERS Conference, and TEDx.
With experience across grassroots initiatives, youth leadership, research, and academia, she is enthusiastic about connecting these worlds to create inclusive, cross-sectoral, and intergenerational climate solutions. As a first-generation graduate student, she continues to build on her journey with curiosity and compassion; and is deeply honoured to serve on the inaugural leadership cohort of the GEO Youth CoP.
