Andy Nelson is professor of food security and spatial agriculture at ITC, University of Twente. He chairs the GEOGLAM capacity development working group, coordinates the Erasmus Mundus GEM joint masters programme, and is a senior editor for Food Security. He has built open access global datasets on accessibility and travel time, and operational crop monitoring systems. Before ITC, he worked at CIAT, IRRI, the World Bank, and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
