Jean-Philippe Montillet is a senior geoscientist, climate change expert, and data strategist at PMOD/WRC (Davos, Switzerland). He is the Vice-Chair of the IEEE Switzerland Foundation and an Honorary Scientist at the University of Beira Interior (Portugal). With over 20 years of experience at the intersection of data governance, analysis, and policy, his work encompasses geophysical processes, sea-level rise and climate simulations. As an adviser to the GEO (Data & Law Policies subgroup), he advocates for the FAIR principles and the rigorous auditing of AI engines. His work is dedicated to ensuring that critical climate observations remain robust, scientifically sustainable, and ethically governed for global stakeholders.
