Valentin Pesendorfer is an experienced EO Data Engineer with demonstrated skills in processing and analysis of EO data in cloud environments. His background is in remote sensing, and he holds a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria. 

Valentin joined the World Food Programme in 2016 and currently serves as Lead Data Engineer for the Climate and Earth Observation Unit of the Research, Assessment and Monitoring Division, where he leads all activities on WFP's HumanitarianDataCube.

He's an advocate of open-source software and open data, working on leveraging open-source tools to provide quality and analysis-ready Earth Observation data to the humanitarian community and beyond.
