GEO Secretariat welcomes new Chief of Member Services

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Venturini as Chief of Member Services at GEO Secretariat. Sara takes the lead on the newly established Member Services unit that will focus on engagement and serving our current and prospective Members – a strong focus of the GEO’s Post-2025 Strategy and Ministerial Declaration endorsed by Ministers in November 2023.

Sara is well known to the GEO community as the Climate Coordinator since she first joined GEO in 2019. In this role, Sara has actively supported GEO’s efforts to strengthen the science-policy interface, promoting valuable relationships and opportunities to leverage GEO’s portfolio for climate action through joint work with UNFCCC Secretariat and other partners. Most recently, Sara also covered the Biodiversity area providing essential support to the ideation and development of the Global Ecosystems Atlas initiative of GEO.
