Parallel Session: Water and Land Sustainability

Objectives

While GEO has had successful initiatives in both water and land sustainability, the integration of these efforts has been insufficient. A holistic conversation in this session will help GEO better unpack interdependencies, leading to innovative solutions and more effective management and conservation strategies. This session will explore the role of Earth intelligence in addressing water and land sustainability in an integrated manner. It will examine the challenges, blockages, and enablers impacting progress while building on the strengths of the current Work Programme to foster more robust and responsive strategies. Most importantly, it will identify opportunities for cross-GEO collaboration to develop this thematic focus area further.
