GEOGLAM launches new and improved website

GEOGLAM launches new and improved website

The Group on Earth Observations Global Agricultural Monitoring (GEOGLAM) has launched a new and improved website to showcase GEOGLAM’s rich history, global community and far-reaching impact.

Below is a snapshot of what you can find on the website now.

The GEOCLAM story

The GEOGLAM story began long before it had a name. It was shaped by a group of committed individuals, led by Chris Justice (University of Maryland) and initiated by Michael Rast (GEO Secretariat).

Today, that story is still being written by a global community of Earth observation, agriculture and food security experts, including many of the people who helped establish GEOGLAM in its earliest days.

The GEOGLAM community

If fuel, fertiliser and tractors keep agriculture moving, the engine of GEOGLAM is its community of dedicated individuals, organisations and networks.

They continually commit their expertise, time and resources to help GEOGLAM achieve its core goal: increasing transparency in agricultural markets and improving food security by producing and sharing relevant, timely and actionable information on agricultural conditions and production outlooks worldwide.

  • Partners – the projects and programmes that contribute to GEOGLAM’s objectives.
  • Executive committee – oversees implementation of the programme and serves as the main decision-making body.
  • Co-chairs – provide the programme’s strategic leadership.
  • Secretariat – leads external engagement and provides overall coordination and day-to-day management of the programme.
  • Working groups – provide thematic leadership and implement the GEOGLAM work programme.
