Objectives
The objectives of this session are to showcase advancements in sharing space-based data, demonstrate the impact of the various Data Cubes across the globe, and enhance knowledge sharing between these initiatives.
This session will present the recent advancements of satellite data sharing and how the broader community uses it. The session will be divided into two parts:
- The first part will touch upon open space-based data with regional examples of how data sharing is organized to respond to evolving needs of users. Representatives from space agencies will discuss their efforts to open their archives in support of the SDGs and other multilateral environmental agreements.
- The second part will emphasize the Data Cubes and Digital Earth programmes that have emerged in recent years in different continents, leveraging the Open Data Cube (ODC) and other open-source tools to organize, process and analyze large volumes of satellite imagery.
