Tumisang Modiole

Ms Tumisang Modiole is the Director: Earth Observations at the Department of Science and Innovation. She is responsible for the development and implementation of programmes to support South African Earth Observation Strategy (SAEOS); and for promoting the development of capacity in EO. She has a special interest in supporting the development of EO solutions that can respond to environmental challenges that the country is facing.

Before joining the DSI, she worked as a Remote Sensing Researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, and Remote Sensing Analyst at the Institute for Satellite and Software Application, an institute of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies.
