Olivia Jimena Juarez Carillo is Advisor of the Governing Board of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI).
She’s worked in Virtual and Augmented Reality, as well as in 3D Geometry Processing. Additionally, in the INEGI Department of Informatics, she was as a mobile developer who managed Android/iOS app “México en Cifras” (Mexico in figures/numbers).
Currently lectures in university: (1) Modelling of Virtual Environment and Agents, (2) Programming of Virtual Environment and Agents, (3) Computer Graphics, and (4) Object Oriented Programming.
Mechatronics Engineering Graduate. She has a 3-year experience in Physical Design Engineer for VLSI at Semtech Corporation, where she worked on the creation of high performance analog, mixed-signal semiconductors.
As an undergrad, she was the first female member ever in the Robotics Team of Universidad Panamericana; and with this team, participated in international competition Robocup Rescue 2012, obtaining 2 nd place in robot manipulation.
Postgraduate in Mobile Technologies (2013); and currently enrolled in a Postgraduate degree in Statistical Methods in Center for Mathematical Research of Mexico (CIMAT), where her research involves satellite image segmentation for land cover.
Her interests include data processing and analysis.
