Dilek Fraisl is a Research Scholar in the Novel Data Ecosystems for Sustainability Research Program (NoDES) at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, IIASA. Dilek is the chair of the European Commission funded "WeObserve SDGs & Citizen Science Community of Practice" that aims to foster collaboration and consolidate knowledge on the contributions of citizen science to the SDGs across the global citizen science and data and statistics communities. Dilek is also co-chairing the Citizen Science Global Partnership SDGs & Citizen Science Maximization Group, and an expert member of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Thematic Research Network on Data and Statistics (SDSN TReNDS). Dilek has also leading roles in several research projects such as “Citizen Science for the SDGs in Ghana” that aims to leverage citizen science data for the monitoring and reporting of the marine litter SDG indicator in Ghana; and “EU-Citizen Science” that aims to be the central knowledge sharing hub for citizen science in Europe.
