Veronika Kopačková-Strnadová has obtained her PhD. degree in Remote Sensing at the Charles University in Prague and received the Dean’s award for the best dissertation in the studied field. She has been leading the Remote Sensing Centre at the Czech Geological Survey since it was established giving main directions for research and development of innovative geoscience applications. During her carrier she has been part of numerous international projects, activities and collaborating with international teams developing new geoscience multi-sensor applications for mineral mapping, assessment of mining impacts and environmental monitoring. In 2015 and 2016, she was a visiting scientist at the Helmholtz Zentrum (GFZ), Potsdam and in 2018 she was appointed as an Earth Observation mentor for the ESA/NASA summer program - FDL Europe 2018. From 2016 to 2020 she was representing the EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) for Earth Observation and GEO activities. In 2022 she started working as an external consultant for Copernicus EUSPA.
