Sven Gilliams

Sven Gilliams has a background in agricultural engineering and has been working in the remote sensing and agricultural domain for the past 20 years. In 2005, Sven joined the VITO remote sensing unit, where he has coordinated several international projects ranging from global agricultural monitoring and mapping to local precision farming, combining a.o. Copernicus EO-, meteo - and in-situ- data sets with artificial intelligence. He currently works as international business development manager for the VITO remote sensing application group, next to this he is also leading; the ESA WorldCereal project and is an active member of the GEOGLAM Executive Committee co-leading the Essential Agricultural Variables and In-situ data working groups.
