Andrew Eddy joined Athena Global in 2001 as a founding partner. He has worked extensively in both the public and private space fields. At the Canadian Space Agency, he served as Secretary to Canada's National Space Plan Task Force, and also created the Agency's ISS Commercialization Office. Andrew left the CSA to join MirCorp, a high-profile international space start-up, as Senior Vice-President and Acting General Counsel. With Athena Global, Andrew's mandates have covered a wide array, including space sector strategic planning, environmental and security issues, research and analysis. He was the lead author of the 1st edition of the Athena Global Earth Observation Guide. Andrew is the secretary of the Recovery Observatory (RO) Demonstrator, a CEOS-led joint initiative with the World Bank, UNDP and the EU to provide EO-based value-adding products in support of Post Disaster Needs Assessments and Recovery Frameworks. The RO Demonstrator is the core part of GEO Work Programme activity called the Earth Observations for Disaster Risk Management (EO4DRM) Initiative. Andrew also currently serves as Secretary to the CEOS WG Disasters. Andrew has also worked for the Canadian International Development Agency and the International Assembly of the Francophonie. Andrew is a graduate of Sciences-Po Paris and holds B.C.L. and LL B degrees in law from McGill University.
