Naledzani is a remote sensing scientist at the South African National Space Agency where she leads research on the development of human settlements including informal settlements, Earth observation products and services.  During her 15 years’ experience in the remote sensing and GIS fields, she has led several national human settlements projects including the SPOT Building Count, National Human Settlements Layer and National Informal Settlement Layer. She also led the development of the first national case study on the use of Earth observation data to support SDG 11.3.1 reporting which was reported on the 2019 South Africa’s SDG report.

She is a co-chair of South Africa-GEO Human Settlement working group which promotes the use of Earth observation and geospatial technologies in government.  She also co-chairs Afri-GEO Sustainable urban Development and COVID-19 working groups. She also participates in EO4SGD and Human Planet GEO initiatives. She actively works with government departments and other end users including local municipalities to promote the use of Earth observation data in decision making and reporting.
