Aidin Niamir is a senior scientist at the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Institutes. Fascinated by the diversity and dynamics of life on Earth, his research focuses on global pulses and patterns and their underlying drivers, using open geoinformation tools and spatiotemporal remote sensing data. Dr Niamir has been leading the Data and Knowledge Unit of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) since 2019.
