Alba Brobia was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1987. Holds a Bachelor Degree in Geography (2012), as well as Master Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) & Remote Sensing (2019), both from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She also completed a postgraduate course in Territorial Applications of GIS (2013) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. In 2014 she moved to Italy to work as a GIS technician in IntGeoMod, a spinoff of the University of Perugia. During 2016-2018 she worked in the Department of Physics and Geology of the University of Perugia in the fields of GIS databases management and web mapping technologies within the Structural Geology and Geophysics (GSG) research group, as well as a lecturer for the "Geographic Information Systems Course" as part of the MsC in Petroleum Geology of the same university. In 2020 she joined the Centre for Research on Ecology and Forestry Applications (CREAF) to work in European geospatial projects. Currently involved in EEA InCASE and HE AD4GD projects contributing to the European Green Deal Data Space in the fields of in-situ Earth Observation data management, metadata encoding, international standards and interoperability concepts mainly in the domains of biodiversity and ecosystems, while also contributing to the promotion of the GRUMETS research group and to the use of the MiraMon GIS software (desktop and web).
