Ernest Acheampong is the Capacity Development Coordinator at the GEO Secretariat. Ernest has extensive experience in managing and coordinating multiple development programmes and capacity-building projects in priority areas such as bamboo livelihoods, sustainable development, climate change adaptation, sustainable agriculture, technology, and innovation in many African countries. He also has experience working with a wide range of stakeholders to develop common agenda and deploying excellent diplomacy and network-building skills. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He holds a master’s degree in International Land and Water Management from the Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands and a PhD degree in Public and Development Management from Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
