Katy Matthews serves as the Group on Earth Observations (GEO)/Committee on Earth Observation Satellites Team Lead in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Satellite and Information Service International and Interagency Affairs Division in the United States. She leads coordination of the U.S. interagency on policy issues related to GEO. She has had a 20-plus year career in NOAA working in international affairs, science communications, legislative affairs, budget and finance, and team development. Ms. Matthews has an undergraduate degree in history and Japanese language from the University of Michigan and a M.A. in International Relations with an emphasis in Asia Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
