Stefan Rösner is a meteorologist by education, working in the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) in Offenbach, Germany. He is head of DWD’s Division “Regional Climate Monitoring” which includes the office of the Deutscher Klimadienst (DKD). He is also GCOS German coordinator, has been a member of the GCOS Steering Committee for six years (2007-2012), served as topic coordinator of the “Climate” chapter in the 10 Years Implementation for a GEOSS, and since 2010 is also coordinator of the WMO RA VI RCC Network. Since 2001 he served as expert advisor to the German Delegation to the UNFCCC sessions on matters related to systematic observation.
