Ms Mariko Shibasaki is Visiting Research Associate at Center for Spatial Information Science, The University of Tokyo. Mariko received her B.A. (Environmental Studies) in Natural Language Processing from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University, and her M.A. (Environmental Studies) in Behavior Analysis using Mobile Data from the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, the University of Tokyo. After that, she worked for IBM Japan as a Client IT Architect in the fields of logistics, retail/financial industry, and education, where she proposed and developed core systems and services, and developed DX strategy and AI-based services, as well. In 2018-2019, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at LIRNEAsia (https://lirneasia.net/), a non-profit research institute in Sri Lanka, and engaged in research on behavior analysis and life pattern classification of people using mobile data in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Africa countries using CDR data.

Mariko is a member of GEO DRR Working Group, supporting subgroups 1 and 3, and currently involved in Task 1.3.
