Dr Nefta Votsi is a post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), conducting research on urban biodiversity and climate change impacts on urban and natural heritage. Holds a Ph.D. in the field of landscape and acoustic ecology. She has worked as post-doctoral research fellow in the field of biodiversity conservation, soundscape studies, anthropogenic impacts on the natural environment, and as a contract lecturer for several undergraduate and postgraduate courses of Aristotle and Charokopio University. She worked as an expert advisor of the Alternate Minister of Environment & Energy specializing in environmental management & biodiversity conservation. She has participated in 9 research projects, published 15 articles (9 as a first author) in peer reviewed journals, 40 articles in conference proceedings and 2 chapters in books. She has been awarded with the European Soundscape Award 2014 by the European Environment Agency in 2014. Since 2020 she is a member of the Greek GEO Office, engaged in the Community Activity entitled “Urban Heritage Climate Observatory (UHCO)” within the frame of the GEO Work Programme.
