Jakub Ryzenko works for the Crisis Information Centre, Space Research Centre, Polish Academy of Sciences in Poland. Jakub is an expert in space policy, international cooperation is space activities and use of modern technologies for security, in particular use of satellite applications and UAVs for crisis management. He regularly acts as a space policy advisor for different governmental institutions. In 2004-2008 he was the Head of the Polish Space Office. Since then he has been actively involved in promotion of space applications in Poland. He was actively involved in the accession of Poland to the European Space Agency. Currently he is involved in definition of the Polish national space programme. Since 2013 he heads the Crisis Information Centre SRC. He has initiated several projects aimed at operational use of satellite technologies and UAVs for rescue services and crisis management. He has coordinated or overseen over 40 operational activations of satellite and UAVs information support for crisis situations.
