Ramesh P Singh Ph.D., Professor with Chapman University, California, USA. Worked in India at the Indian Institute of Technology during 1986-2007. Since more than 30 years, Dr. Singh worked in the area of Natural Disaster, e.g. earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricane/cyclones, landslides, dust storms, Droughts and Floods, and have published many papers related to Natural Hazards occurred in India, China, US, Sumatra. Dr Singh was President of AGU Natural Hazards Section during 2016-2018 and associated with the IUGG GeoRisk Commission. Dr Singh has used all kinds of satellite remote sensing data (of various space agencies, NASA, ESA, JAXA, CNES and ISRO) for mapping, monitoring and early warning of natural hazards associated with land, ocean, and atmosphere mapping. Used remote sensing data to understand changes related to land, ocean, atmosphere, cryosphere, and meteorological parameters to understand role of climate changes. Dr Singh has worked with UNEP and many countries (Japan, Germany, France, Sweden, China, Canada, and India).
Ramesh is Deputy Co-Chair of GEO DRR Working Group, supporting subgroup 3 and she is involved in Tasks 3.1 and 3.2.
