Angel Alberto Valdiviezo Ajila (National Service for Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergencies – Ecuador)
Angel holds the position of analyst in Risk Management and Environment at the National Service for Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergencies (SNGRE) and leads the group of studies for vulnerability and disaster risk assessment. Previously, he worked as head of the department of risk analysis in the city of Durán, where he led the Climate Resilient Program for the city (RESCLIMA).
Additionally, Angel serves as Vice President of the Regional College of Engineers in Geology, Mines and Petroleum and Environmental of the Littoral (2019-2021), he’s an active researcher of the International Pacific Center for Disaster Risk Reduction of the Superior Polytechnic School of Littoral of Ecuador (ESPOL) and founding member of the Ecuadorian chapter of the International Water Association (IWA).
Angel Alberto Valdiviezo Ajila has a primary background in Engineering Geology, and he is currently completing the Climate Change Master Program at ESPOL on the theme of Nature-based Solutions for adaptation.
