Mercy J. Borbor-Cordova, MSc, Ph.D environmental science. Associate Professor at the Escuela Superior Politecnica del LItoral, Ecuador. Dr. Mercy Borbor is an oceanographer and interdisciplinary scientist working on the interactions among natural or human systems and the climate effects on society. She has managed to combine roles as both researcher and public officer involved in decision making processes at local, regional and national level in areas of environmental management, disaster risk reduction, and climate change. Mercy has contributed to the National Strategy for Climate Change for Ecuador (2015) and the strategy of capacity building for New Urban Agenda (2019) and climate services for health sector in Ecuador. Climate services for sectors is a topic that Dr. Borbor consider needs to be promoted and enhance the capacity in the Latin American region.
