Rafael Monge is an economist who serves as the Director of the National Center of Geoenvironmental Information (CENIGA) at the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) of Costa Rica. He coordinates the development of Costa Rica’s National Land Use, Land Cover and Ecosystems Monitoring System (SIMOCUTE) and has actively supported the accession process of Costa Rica to the OECD and the generation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) environmental indicators for his country.
Rafael actively participates in EO Toolkit for Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Implementation Team and Co-Anchors the Awareness/Capacity Development Working Group.
