Community Event - From Global Data and Partnership to Regional Action: GEO Human Planet and the Regional GEOs (Regional GEO Session)

Description

The primary objective of the session is to explore how GEO Work Programme initiatives—including, but not limited to, GEO Human Planet—can be more effectively operationalized through Regional GEOs to enhance service delivery, strengthen cross-regional collaboration, and increase impact at national and regional levels.

The discussion will explore:

  • How are GEO Work Programme initiatives currently being utilized across regions, and where are the key gaps and opportunities for increased uptake?
  • How can GEO initiatives (e.g., GHP and others) better support cross-regional harmonization, interoperability, and co-development of solutions?
  • What mechanisms are needed to move from awareness to sustained operational use of GEO services, and how can they better respond to region-specific needs?
