Meeting the needs of subnational government for biodiversity data

Summary:

Subnational governments have a crucial role to play in land-use planning and biodiversity protection. However, the appropriate data, indicators, and monitoring approaches still needs to be clarified to adequately meet these needs. This roundtable will help advance discussions on the gaps and levers in applying biodiversity data within the municipal context, focusing on the best tools and approaches moving forward. The discussion will feature three guest speakers and be widely open to the audience.

Speakers:

  • Julie Lafortune, Applied Research Center on Biodiversity and Ecosystems
  • Jérôme Dupras, Applied Research Center on Biodiversity and Ecosystems
