Improving Policy Relevance and Delivery of the Next GWP

Description

This session presents a new report “Mapping the Engagement of the 2020-2022 GEO Work Programme in Capacity Development, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Action”, jointly produced by the three related Working Groups. The report provides insight on the current GWP activities and their needs, gaps and synergies, with a view to identify recommendations for the effective development of the 2023-2025 GWP. The report also aims to reflect the GWP mapping outcomes vis-a-vis current efforts to address relevant “nexus areas” in the next GWP and Post-2025 GEO strategic mission, including areas covered in sessions during this GEO Symposium.

The session aims to trigger a discussion among GEO experts and the broader GEO community, and follow-ups including potential new activity proposals for the 2023-2025 GWP.

Session Chairs:

Sara Venturini and Rui Kotani - (GEOSEC)
