Summary:
This GEO BON-hosted session will introduce a comprehensive ecosystem of interlinked tools designed to streamline and enhance data processes for NBSAP reporting.
We will present a virtuous cycle of Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reproducible (FAIR) information and knowledge that flows from primary data (e.g. species observations), through harmonized spatial biodiversity data (Essential Biodiversity Variables or EBVs), to indicators of biodiversity status (such as headline indicators).
Built upon the concept of EBVs and supported by B-Cubed, NaturaConnect, and TDWG, these tools offer a transformative approach to biodiversity data sharing, access, management, standardization, and visualization.
Speakers:
- Lina M. Estupinan-Suarez, The German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, iDiv
- Yanina Sica, Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Institute
