Mariko Harada

HARADA Mariko is Associate Senior Administrator at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Technical Advisor of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan.

She joined JAXA in 2006 and currently working on satellite applications aiming to address global challenges with domestic and international partners. She has extensive experience in international affairs and space policy in the field of space and has contributed to GEO for many years as a member of the Japanese delegation as well as JAXA.

She received the JAXA President Award in 2019 for her contribution to improving the role of Earth Observation satellites in the "Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories".

As of August 2021, she became AOGEO Coordination Board co-chair.
