Michelle McClure is the Director of the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL, USA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).  PMEL is extensively involved in monitoring global heat and carbon cycles in the ocean as well as understanding climate and ecosystems in the Arctic.  Michelle is a fish biologist by training  (PhD., Cornell University) and prior to this position worked in both Pacific salmon conservation and groundfish harvest management.  In both capacities, she applied climate science to the management of anadromous and marine species.
