Mohsen Ghafory-Ashtiany

Prof. Mohsen Ghafory-Ashtiany is the founder of the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES) in Iran in 1989 and was its president until Dec. 2006. As an expert of earthquake engineering and risk management, he currently serves as Distinguished Professor of IIEES, Associate Member of Academy of Science of Iran, and Advisor to the Minister on Risk Management at Iran Ministry of Energy. He is the author of more than 250 papers, 3 books and 40 research reports in the field of random vibration, earthquake engineering, seismic hazard and risk analysis, risk management, and risk reduction policy development.
