Shawn Marshall is a glaciologist and climatologist based at the University of Calgary, Canada. He is currently seconded to Ottawa for work with the federal government, as the Departmental Science Advisor at Environment and Climate Change Canada. Dr. Marshall's research focuses on glacier and ice sheet response to climate change, including numerical modelling and field studies in western and Arctic Canada, Iceland, and Greenland. He serves on the Science Leadership Council of the Mountain Research Initiative (MRI), as Canada's Cryosphere Working Group representative to the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), and as Vice Chair of the WMO Cryosphere Study Group.
