Community Event - GEO Infrastructure, Youth and GEO Indigenous Alliance (ODOK Session)
Description
This session highlights the vital role of youth and Indigenous knowledge in advancing open data and open knowledge within the GEO community. It will explore how young people can actively contribute to and benefit from open knowledge initiatives, including through national efforts such as the GEO Knowledge Hub. The session will also present opportunities to improve accessibility of Earth observation data and tools for youth, while emphasizing the importance of Indigenous-led approaches to climate action. By bringing these perspectives together, the session aims to foster inclusivity, empower underrepresented communities, and identify concrete next steps to strengthen their engagement in GEO.
