
Diana Mastracci
Biography
Diana Mastracci Sanchez is the International Strategic Liaison for the GEO Indigenous Alliance and Founder of Space4Innovation, working at the intersection of Indigenous-led innovation, Earth observation, ethical AI, biodiversity monitoring, and space research. She has worked at NASA, the European Space Agency, Oxford University, and the GEO Secretariat, and has led and supported projects with Indigenous communities from the Amazon to the Arctic and northern Kenya. She also developed the Indigenous Hackathon methodology, supporting Indigenous youth and communities to co-design technologies grounded in their own priorities, knowledge systems, and governance. Her work focuses on Indigenous data sovereignty, relational approaches to biodiversity, and the co-design of technologies that respond to community priorities. Diana holds an MA with Joint Honours in Social Anthropology and Russian from the University of St Andrews, and an MSc from the University of Oxford, where she specialised in remote sensing and GIS for biodiversity and climate applications.
