This community event aims to create an inclusive, participatory forum that advances youth engagement in Earth Intelligence while strengthening capacity development and collaboration across the GEO community. The session will highlight the critical role of youth as emerging leaders in applying Earth Observation (EO) to address global challenges and support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event will provide a platform to showcase youth-led EO applications and impact stories, demonstrating how Earth Intelligence can be translated into real-world benefits across domains such as climate resilience, food security, water sustainability, and ecosystem management. It will facilitate dialogue between youth, mentors, and GEO stakeholders to explore pathways for skills development, knowledge exchange, and long-term engagement in GEO activities.

A key objective is to formally launch the GEO Youth Mentorship Programme and its associated Mentor–Mentee Matching Platform. This initiative will connect young professionals and students with experienced practitioners across GEO members, participating organisations, academia, and the private sector. The programme is designed to support structured mentorship, peer learning, and career development aligned with GEO Work Programme priorities.

Through interactive discussion and co-design activities, the session will also identify community needs, including access to EO data, tools, training, and mentorship support. The event aims to foster new partnerships, strengthen the GEO Youth Community of Practice, and generate actionable insights that inform future youth engagement and capacity-building initiatives.

Ultimately, the session positions mentorship and youth empowerment as strategic investments in building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready Earth Intelligence ecosystem.
