Dr. Yifang Ban is Professor and Director of Geoinformatics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Associate Director at Digital Futures, Sweden. Her research focuses on AI-driven Earth observation for urban mapping, urbanization monitoring, disaster management, and climate resilience. She has been consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford/Elsevier (2020–2025). Professor Ban received the 2025 GEO Lifetime Achievement Award and leads the GEO AI4EO Enabler.
